About the artistMerrilee Vickers Graf was inspired to begin painting during a summer of painting lessons with her grandmother, the late Juanita Stone Clark, a student of Georgia artist, Lamar Dodd. As her interest in painting grew she began to experiment with color and contrast and its effects on the viewer. “My art is an expression of my interest in the ever-changing atmosphere, through vibrantly contrasted colors and emotion.” Influenced by from her father’s interest in astronomy, she explores the world and the universe through color and emotion.
