About MerrileeMerrilee Vickers Graf was born in 1986 and a graduate from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and lived there until she was 7, when she and her family moved to West Tennessee. Merrilee’s love of art was encouraged and inspired by her grandmother, the late Juanita Stone Clark, a student of Georgia artist Lamar Dodd. She received the Nancy Nichols Williams scholarship for painting majors in both 2008 and 2010. Some of her influences in art are the intense skyscape paintings of William Turner, and the colorful abstract art of Osnat Tzadok. Merrilee’s paintings are vibrant and atmospheric. She uses the combination of contrasting colors to create a vibrating energy. Merrilee will graduate from Tennessee Technological University in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. |
